Post-secondary educational opportunities here are abundant, with approximately 50,000 degrees and other credentials awarded each year by our private and public universities, and community colleges affiliated with the Kentucky Community and Technical College System. Many of these institutions offer flexible scheduling to accommodate busy work and family schedules, and The Kentucky Virtual Campus (www.kyvu.com) offers online learning programs and courses to earn college degrees and credits from the participating institution of one's choice. In February of 2010, a consortium of four colleges and two training providers combined to form the Regional Education Center (REC) in Radcliff. Housed in a modern, conveniently located facility, the REC is a "first of its kind" concept for the state.
The Army's Continuing Education System, Fort Knox Division, is located in Briscoe Hall (www.knox.army.mil/garrison/ACES/), which is home to branches of 6 colleges and universities -- the University of Louisville, Western Kentucky University, Elizabethtown Community and Technical College, Eastern Kentucky University, Central Texas College, and Sullivan University. Bottom line, we know you'll find the Heartland's education and training opportunities to be student-centered and welcoming, ready to provide the best possible learning experiences.
