When it comes to theatre and the arts, the options are plentiful in Kentucky's Heartland - Broadway musicals, comedies, historical dramas, ballets, concerts, outdoor theatre and holiday productions are among the many choices.
The Hardin County Schools Performing Arts Center and the PAC — hosts numerous theatrical and dance productions each year as well as musical acts. Popular musicals like Fiddler on the Roof, The Nutcracker Ballet and a classical guitar series that consistently attracts world-class musicians are among the many offerings at the PAC. Just a few miles south, The Historic State theatre is home to great dramatic performances from the Hardin County Playhouse.
And we would be remiss if we didn't mention My Old Kentucky Home State Park and home to Stephen Foster - The Musical and numerous concerts ranging from Big Band to Country to Rock.
Brandenburg's Riverfront Park also hosts a summer concert series and the small town of Vine Grove holds an annual Bluegrass Festival that attracts thousands.
If that's not enough, the arts scene in Louisville is plentiful. The Louisville Orchestra, the Kentucky Opera and the world-renowned Actors theatre of Louisville are just a few of Louisville's many offerings.
So whether you take in a concert at Freeman Lake Park or an outdoor performance at Pine Knob theatre, choices abound. To learn more about Arts and Theatre in the Heartland, visit our Resource Database.
