ELIZABETHTOWN — Come spring, Elizabethtown residents will have two more options when they stock their summer wardrobe.

Two new stores are set to open in Towne Mall this spring. Famous Labels will occupy the former Dawahare's space, and rue21 will take a portion of the space where Limited, Too was located.

Famous Labels offers brand-name clothes for children, teens, women and men, and home goods at discounted prices by purchasing closeout, liquidation and overstocked items from department stores and other stores, according to a news release from Macerich, owner of Towne Mall.

Famous Labels has been in business for seven years, according to the release. Its corporate office is in Las Vegas and there are more than 30 Famous Labels locations.

Famous Labels doesn't have an opening date more specific than during the spring season, said Heather Edge, senior marketing manager at Towne Mall for Macerich.

Edge said Macerich works hard to find new stores that will do well in the local market.

"It is important to deliver an appropriate store selection and not just fill the space," she said.

Edge said it's a plus for Towne Mall to fill one of its biggest spaces, as well as a store that features an outside entrance to the mall.

rue21 is a clothing store that focuses on new fashion trends, according to a news release from Macerich. The company owns 530 stores in 43 states, and wants to continue to open 100 a year.

Construction has begun on rue21, which will be located next to Hot Topic, Edge said. It's scheduled to open in April.

Towne Mall's Web site lists about 50 tenants, including stores, kiosks and food servers. There are more than a dozen spaces waiting for tenants. Edge said Macerich constantly works with retailers to lease out space.
