Grayson County also offers plenty of tourist opportunity, bordering Mammoth Cave National Park and Rough River along with the Twin Lakes area.

The Grayson County Fair in Leitchfield wraps up on Labor Day after an exciting week of activities like tractor and truck pulls, a demolition derby, motorcycle races, horse shows, a carnival, field crops and women's exhibits and the Miss Grayson County and Miss Teen pageants.
Grayson County was formed in 1810. It is located in the Western Coal Field region of the state. The elevation in the county ranges from 395 feet above sea level to 963 feet above sea level. In 2003, the county population was 24,600 in a land area of 503 square miles.
The county seat of Grayson County is Leitchfield. Leitchfield is situated near the eastern edge of the Western Kentucky Coal Field Region. Leitchfield is located 77 miles southwest of Louisville, Kentucky; 129 miles north of Nashville, Tennessee; and 268 miles east of St. Louis, Missouri. Leitchfield had an estimated 2002 population of 6214.
