The Lincoln Trail Region is made up of eight counties that offer beautiful rivers, lakes, parks, forests, and rolling bluegrass fields. Located in central Kentucky just south of Greater Louisville Metro, the Lincoln Trail Region contains the Fort Knox Military Reservation.
The Lincoln Trail Region offers a pleasant combination of history and scenery. The region is known for being the boyhood home of Abraham Lincoln, the 16th US President. Found within the Lincoln Trail are Kentucky's signature attractions, such as My Old Kentucky Home and the Gold Vault at Fort Knox. The Lincoln Trail Region is also known for its shopping. Unique items such as jewelry, antiques, and upscale clothing can be found in locations throughout the region.
