Bullitt County, one of the fastest growing counties in the state, is located just south of Kentucky's largest city, Louisville. Created in 1796 from sections of Jefferson and Nelson counties, Bullitt County is named after Alexander Scott Bullitt, Kentucky's first Lieutenant Governor. Bullitt County offers top quality schools. Kentucky's seventh district has 23 school facilities with educational services provided to more than 12,000 students. The county currently has 12 elementary, 6 middle 4 high schools and 1 Area Technology Center, all of these neighborhood schools have room for your children.
