Bullitt County, one of the fastest growing counties in the state, is located just south of Kentucky's largest city, Louisville. Created in 1796 from sections of Jefferson and Nelson counties, Bullitt County is named after Alexander Scott Bullitt, Kentucky's first Lieutenant Governor.
